Black Pepper has been used as a spice in India since prehistoric times. It was probably first cultivated on the Malabar Coast of India, in what is now the state of Kerala. Peppercorns were a much prized trade good, often referred to as black gold and used as a form of commodity money. The term peppercorn rent still exists today. The production method of this oil is through steam distillation, and it has a spicy and pungent aroma. Black Pepper was one of the earliest used spices, and it has interesting effects when used in perfume blends.
Effects on the Mind - Stimulating for the mind, aiding concentration and strengthening the nerves. Helpful for coldness, indifference and apathy.
Effects on the Body - Black Pepper has the ability to stimulate and tone the body, which is why it is ideal for massaging on the abdomen and muscles. It is excellent when used as a pre-sports or dance rub to help maintain suppleness.
Note - Middle
Blends well with Rose, Rosemary, Marjoram and Lavender, but should only be used in small amounts.
Cautions - Do not apply this oil directly to the skin without being diluted in a carrier oil first.
